- Despite reports to the contrary, Barry Brigs confirms his current break from racing is only a temporaray sabbatical and he is not retired

- Bob Kilby is to be entered into the Guinness Book Of Records as the fastest speed recorded on a British track. Kilby broke the 70-second barrier and set a new track record at Exeter, with an average speed of 51mph
