Riders Gary Everitt, Peter Bradshaw, Martyn Piddock and Malcolm Carmichael died, along with West Ham team manager, Phil Bishop, and the driver of the bus. Colin Pratt (broken neck, head injury, and severe internal injuries), Stan Stevens (broken leg and facial injuries) and a mechanic were also hurt, but survived.
